Cicadas are weird, and they are more than bountiful in Loveland, Ohio. I love that Anna has no fear of these odd creatures. She just picks them up and looks at them. She finds them amusing. Sometimes they'll flap their wings like crazy and she'll let out this quick, high-pitched burst of a giggle, then simply get a better hold on the insect. At this point she likes to closely analyze the wings of this insect, and that usually results in the wings being torn off a piece at a time. Then the cicada is promptly discarded for another. Nice.
Sometimes she picks them up, puts them on the concrete, and stomps on them. That's always entertaining for dad. I think mom has a different reaction though.
